Our Place in Space x Oliver Jeffers
The renowned illustrator made a unique artwork for Seacourt and we opened our doors to hundreds of children (and adults) for a day long drop in letterpress printing workshop using our adana machines.
The Our Place in Space Festival came to Bangor on 31st March 2023. A recreation of our solar system as an 11 km sculpture trail designed by artist Oliver Jeffers, astrophysicist Professor Stephen Smartt and a creative team led by Nerve Centre went on display for intrepid adventurers.
Everyone was able to customise a beautiful, limited edition postcard, using watercolour pens and vibrant neon and metallic paints. The results were all completely unique and stunning in their own right and these little artworks have gone to homes across Northern Ireland.
We were honoured to play a small part in this wonderful celebration of our beautiful Planet Earth 🌍. Thanks to all involved for helping make it happen, especially our dedicated staff and volunteers.
Seacourt offers a bespoke postcard printmaking service – we can design a limited edition artwork and deliver workshops either at your community centre, school or here at Seacourt. This is a great activity for large scale events and we can print with hundreds of people in a day!
