Our Purpose

Seacourt is much more
than just an arts organisation.

Our Purpose
and why we do
what we do

It’s simple. We love print.

We believe being creative makes you feel good.
We love the magic of print, experiments, sharing, collaborating.
We want to make a difference.

That is why we provide an open access printmaking studio with fantastic resources, courses, workshops and our printmaking family includes master printmakers, multidisciplinary artists, amateurs and those who print to improve their well-being.

Our Vision

Seacourt at the heart of building a creative, healthy and prosperous place.

Our Mission

Advance excellence in printmaking, create space for creativity, support cultural regeneration and build engaged communities to improve lives.

How we do what we do

Our creative hub occupies a heritage building from which we offer an open access printmaking workshop, artists’ studios, Bangor’s first professional gallery and community space.

We provide the support, resources and space that artists need to practice, make and share art.

We offer a year-round programme of learning, events and projects to hundreds of people of all ages and abilities.

Improving mental health and wellbeing is at the heart of our work, and we enable community connection through creative generosity, equipping people with skills to be creative on their own terms.

Our goals:

  • To be embedded at the heart of Bangor driving the cultural regeneration of the city
  • To raise our profile as the leading print resource in Northern Ireland
  • To create pathways towards excellence in artistic practice, arts provision and life-long learning encouraging dialogue, collaboration and experimentation
  • To ensure access to creativity, deliver community good and improve lives

We wouldn’t be able to do all this without the support of funders and sponsors, our creative community and of course without you. To find out how you can help us develop this journey further, visit our support us page.
